heidehof

heidehof bookHeidehof Provincial Nature Reserve, has limestone fynbos, fantastic rock formations, panoramic views, endemic flower species that occur nowhere else in the world and coastal fynbos bird watching.

There is also an abundance of medicinal plants.

You can come for a Nature Walk with a guide. The ca. 3 hour walk will take you through plants that grow on limestone, neutral soil and deep acid sand.

An approx. 1 hour walk is also available with a guide for people who can not walk so long or have disabilities. No wheelchairs as the soft sand does not allow it. You can picnic afterwards under the milkwoods.

pincusions on HeidehofThe book on medicinal and other uses of the Southern Overberg plants is available and moisturising creams made from distilled fynbos plants that are good for your skin + Kelp and Aloe in 50 ml jars.I.e. Salvia africana lutea (dune sage, bruin salie, strandsalie).
